Parsons Xtreme Golf

Parsons Xtreme Golf

Project Overview

The newest golf equipment company on the scene, PXG was looking to make a splash in the marketplace with a website that boasted the quality of their products. BIG YAM achieved this by crafting a website that highlights the technology behind each club, as well as the story of each pro that switched to PXG.

The site is built on Kentico and features an ever-expanding line of products, including select clubs, apparel, and other golf equipment. PXG’s brand grows every day, and we continue to make improvements to the site based on careful analysis of the analytics and the needs of their customers. The site also supports multiple languages, including Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, and Chinese currently.

Awards & Mentions

The PXG website received an ADDY award in 2016 for its responsive design.

Development

My role as front-end developer was to code the static HTML, CSS, and jQuery based on our team’s Photoshop designs, as well as assist in CMS integration. I utilized Sass for this project, and created a library of reusable patterns for the site. The biggest challenges included coding the multi-layered menus and the cutaway sections that appear on the individual club pages. PXG’s new site features flexbox, responsive tables, full-page videos, and a 360-degree view of the clubs.

Additional Work

In addition to the website, I’ve also worked on HTML email templates, RSVP event forms, a sales portal, a style guide, and lots of documentation. All of the email templates were tested in Litmus and deployed through MailChimp, and several templates were built using MailChimp’s templating language, which allows the PXG team to quickly update the content and imagery.
